60,000 Frankfurt Germany residents evacuated after Discovery of an unexploded WWII bomb in German financial capital

At least 60,000 residents were evacuated today after the discovery of an unexploded second world war (WWII ) bomb in Frankfurt , the German financial capital;
 
The British second world war bomb was discovered during construction work in Frankfurt and thousands of residents in Frankfurt had to be evacuated from their homes early on Sunday morning as specialists prepare to defuse the massive second world war bomb in an area that houses Germany’s central bank where US$70bn in gold reserves are stored.
 
Police chiefs have warned that force will be used in the evacuation if necessary in the cordoned area of evacuation area, which stretches across a radius of 1.5km.
 
Over 2,000 tonnes of live bombs and munitions are discovered every year in Germany and the bomb is said to have been dropped by Britain’s Royal Air Force during the 1939-45 second world.
 
Germany’s Frankfurt police will check all houses and also use heat- seeking cameras in helicopters to locate people before declaring the area safe to bomb diffusion on Sunday.
 
Roads and transport systems, including parts of the underground, will be closed during the work and for at least two hours after the bomb is defused, to allow patients to be transported back to hospitals.
